Mark Princevalle

Mark Princevalle has over twenty years of experience in performance driven industries, has extensive leadership and multi-level consulting experience, and serves as a Senior Associate for SmartRisk. Specializing in emergency preparedness and management, risk assessment and response, and community and political outreach, Mark has developed and managed award-winning and nationally recognized community, political, and educational outreach programs for client utilities and their subsidiaries, in addition to federally-graded security, safety, and emergency preparedness programs, drills, and exercises. He has worked as a consultant and industry expert for U.S. Department of Energy and National Laboratories’ projects, and for the governments of Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania for improvements to those countries’ energy, emergency management and response, security, and communications industries; and served as primary spokesman and liaison between government agencies and related stakeholders.

Mark was the first American, upon the collapse of the former Soviet Union in December of 1991, to enter and film the melted down remnants of the Chernobyl 4 Reactor, and produced the award-winning documentary, Chernobyl – Truth & Consequences, with the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and various international ministries. He instituted technology exchanges and upgraded physical facilities as well as developed operational policies and procedures to enhance emergency preparedness and response for target countries. He is also a supporter and board member of numerous non-profit organizations and charities – locally, nationally, and internationally.
